While the effects of this year on the exhibit industry may be hard to put into words, the team at UFI has been working to quantify the response from exhibitors and attendees, as well as offer perspective for moving forward.

Our guest for this week’s Virtual Lunch, Kai Hattendorf, shares findings from the Global Recovery Project and the JMIC Global Manifesto.

Kai Hattendorf serves as Managing Director and CEO of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. He is responsible for UFI activities and events globally, as well as the operation of its offices and presences in Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, and Bogota.

He also currently serves as Honorary President of the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC), a global Council of international and global associations serving the Business Events Industry.

He’s been in the exhibition industry for numerous years, serving in senior management positions at Messe Frankfurt’s global headquarters, and leadership positions in marketing/strategic communications, as well as product development in the telecom industry. In his early career as a journalist, Kai worked for international broadcasters including the BBC and Voice of America.
