Weekly News & Insights: Winners Everywhere You Turn

It seems there are winners all around the trade show world these days. The Expo Group announced their Show Manager of the Year (SMOTY) award winners, who will be honored at the 3rd Annual TSNN Awards Gala in Louisville next month. Winners represent a wide range of shows, from dentistry to plastics.

In related news, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has announced their top picks for public events in 2012. Those consumer show winners — which include Earth Day Dallas, the Abilities Expo, and a series of boat shows — will be honored at IAEE’s Expo! Expo! in Orlando this December.

And in a city known for its winners and losers, it seems the Las Vegas Convention Center has scored two big wins: both the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and MAGIC, a long-running fashion expo, have extended their agreements at the LVCC. SEMA has signed on through 2017 and MAGIC through 2015 with two annual shows.
