While it’s true that the trade show and hospitality industry has probably taken the biggest hit from the current crisis, it’s also true that members of our industry are also some of those who are stepping up to provide assistance.
Here are just a few examples:
- Convention centers across the country and around the world are being converted into temporary hospitals.
- Exhibit display houses are providing divider walls and hand sanitizer stations for those facilities.
- Hotels are offering rooms for medical professionals, recovering patients, and the homeless.
- Venues are donating food that was on hand for this month’s canceled events to those in need (sometimes their own staff).
And IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) put together this short video highlighting a few of the creative things their members are doing.
I can’t begin to say how proud I am to work in this industry of caring, considerate and creative people! If you know of other examples of organizations or venues who are stepping up, please share them in the comments so they can be an inspiration to others.
