In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, we’re taking a look at how the trade show industry is going green. Our guest, Scott McKye from KleerTech, offers on easy steps that exhibitors, show managers, and meeting planners can take to create more environmental-friendly events along with the inside scoop on the latest Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX) initiatives.
In the interview, Scott also mentions BolderPath, a company who re-engineers old meeting and trade show materials into bags, portfolios and other cool gear for future events.

Hello Marlys and Scott,
Thanks for posting this conversation, and of course for linking to BolderPath. The meetings industry has so much opportunity for waste-to-product solutions, we’re just glad that self-regulation and strong leadership is sweeping across the industry.
APEX initiative is a fantastic structure to begin the sustainability dialogue, and your podcast is so essential to spread the word and educate folks as easily as possible. Choices are rarely black and white, and sustainability is fluid and always adapting. Event planners, sponsors and exhibitors are so busy already, without dedicated providers along the entire supply/value chain for an event, it’s hard to imaging how to acquire enough knowledge to make good decisions in so many categories of production.
BolderPath is realizing waste-to-product solutions for the meetings industry so that multiple categories can benefit from one profitable choice. We specialize in sustainable product creations from meetings waste and provide innovative tracking and reports for product and process footprints and diversion metrics.
It will take all of us working together to combine our intelligence and motivate our clients to show insight and leadership in their field. It’s all a process of learning, growing and sharing. Thanks again for including us in your talk. Robert Bogatin
